Life Changing Books

I am currently reading Paul McKenna’s “Change Your Life in 7 Days” which comes with a hypnosis CD. The power of the unconscious mind is much greater than I realised and I am really enjoying the experience.

I have read the books by Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks and always feel inspired. If I feel I am falling into negative thinking I listen to one of their CD books and then I always feel more positive about everything.

A few years ago I was visiting Bolsover Castle, in Derbyshire, UK. It was Halloween, it was a special ghost tour and a small group of us walked around the grounds and castle armed only with our torches.

We heard stories of a grey lady who can sometimes be seen passing through an archway in the wall of the fountain garden.

Staff and visitors have reported feeling as though they have been touched or tickled and some have seen the ghostly figure of a small boy. Sometimes the sound of trotting horses and soldiers marching can be heard.

The main building is in ruins, I believe much was taken away when Bess of Hardwick moved to Hardwick Hall a few miles away. But the Little Castle is still standing and is very eerie to walk through at night. We were told that some visitors feel a tightness to their chest when passing through one room said to be haunted by the ghost of a housekeeper who lived there in the late 19th century who died of pneumonia.

When we reached the kitchen down at the lowest level we were told that a baby can sometimes be heard crying and the figure of a woman with a baby is seen regularly. It was rumoured that the baby was killed in the kitchens.

I don’t recall seeing or hearing anything unnatural, but it was an enjoyable spooky tour.

Emotional Freedom Technique – Tested

After a recent episode of back pain I went in search of relief and I thought I’d give the Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT a try.

I downloaded the Emotional Freedom Techniques manual from World Center for EFT

The technique uses pressure and a tapping sequence at various points on the face, hands and body.

It can be used for physical and emotional problems, such as phobias, weight loss, addictions.

Stage 1 – Setup

You repeat an affirmation 3 times…
Even though I have this _____________,I deeply and completely accept myself. (The blank could be something like craving for alcohol, fear of spiders, etc)

ie: Even though I have this knee pain, I deeply and completely accept myself.
or: Even though I have this debilitating grief, I deeply and completely accept myself.
…while you…

Simultaneously rub a “Sore Spot”….or….tap on the “Karate Chop” point (see KC on the sequence image).

There are two Sore Spots and it doesn’t matter which one you use. They are located in the upper left and right portions of the chest and you find them as follows:

Go to the base of the throat about where a man would knot his tie. Poke around in this area and you will find a U shaped notch at the top of your sternum (breastbone). From the top of that notch go down 3 inches (about 7cm) toward your navel and over 3 inches to your left (or right). You should now be in the upper left (or right) portion of your chest. If you press vigorously in that area (within a 2 inch radius) you will find a “Sore Spot.” This is the place you will need to rub while saying the affirmation.

Stage 2 – The sequence

EB = beginning of the eyebrow
SE = side of the eye
UE = under the eye
UN = under the nose
Ch = chin
CB = beginning of the collarbone
UA = under the arm
BN = for men, one inch below the nipple
BN = for ladies, where the underskin of the breast meets the chest wall
Th = thumb
IF = index finger
MF = middle finger
BF = baby finger
KC = karate chop

Stage 3 – The Gamut Procedure

First locate Gamut Point It is on the back of either hand and is 1/2 inch behind the midpoint between the knuckles at the base of the ring finger and the little finger.

Next, you must perform 9 different actions while tapping the Gamut point continuously.

The 9 Gamut actions are:

  1. Eyes closed
  2. Eyes open
  3. Eyes hard down right while holding the head steady
  4. Eyes hard down left while holding the head steady
  5. Roll eyes in a circle as though your nose was at the center of a clock and you were trying to see all the numbers in order
  6. Same as #5 only reverse the direction in which you roll your eyes
  7. Hum 2 seconds of a song (suggest Happy Birthday)
  8. Count rapidly from 1 to 5
  9. Hum 2 seconds of a song again

Stage 4 – The Sequence (again)

Repeat the Stage 2 sequence.

While it did not alleviate the back pain completely, I feel sure that it helped to ease the worst of the pain and I also recovered more quickly than I have done in the past.

Yoga for Beginners

Here are three videos from Yogatic - Yoga for Beginners…

I haven’t been getting enough exercise lately and my joints are getting stiff. I used to do yoga years ago so when I found these YouTube videos I thought I would give yoga another try.

Part 1 - These movements were completed without too much difficulty the main problem was in trying to look at the video while doing the moves but easier the second time as I knew what to expect.

Part 2 – Triangle pose and extended side-angle pose from mountain pose are a bit more difficult for someone as unfit as I am. Most difficulty in the triangle pose when extending my arm upward – I have had frozen shoulders and still don’t have a full range of movements but I stretched as much as I could. My muscles complained a little bit.

 

Part 3 - I managed this until I went into plank, had great difficulty in keeping straight but no real problems with anything else.

I plan to work through these 3 videos for a couple of weeks before I look to take yoga any further. I plan to be more supple and ‘bendy’ before the end of the year.

The Money Miracle

This is a technique to aid positive thinking and should be used not only for money but for anything of value coming into your life.

Try it for yourself. I only ask two things — say the statement and follow the rules below as given AND … if you teach it to someone else, please teach it in the same way. Shortcuts, additions or subtractions in the wording result in the process NOT working.

I share this with you freely and ask you to pass it on. Every time you teach it to another person, it will also work for you. Teaching it to children is encouraged — they often “see” the Money Miracle faster than the adults.

MIRACLE MONEY STATEMENT:
“This week I WILL experience a Miracle having to do with Money!”
or
“This week I WILL experience ANOTHER Miracle having to do with Money!”

TWO RULES FOR APPLYING THIS PROCESS:

1. When the Miracle occurs, you must in some way acknowledge it.
2. Only repeat the statement if you are in doubt or fear, or straight after you have received a miracle having to do with money which you have acknowledged.

COMMENTARY ON THE RULES:

Rule 1 can be tricky – it is actually training in “new vision.” Can you “see” the miracle when it comes? This will be more clear when you learn about the phrase “having to do with money” below. One may simple say, “Aha, here is a Miracle having to do with money!” No need for ceremony or ritual.

Rule 2 – This statement is NOT an affirmation that is to be repeated constantly! Say it, and let it go to work! If, however, you find that something disturbing occurs to bring in doubt that this will work, or a fear about money arises, then firmly repeat the statement, and again let it go.

Also, as soon as you have found and then acknowledged a Money Miracle, repeat the statement this way, “This week I will experience ANOTHER Miracle having to do with Money!”

The reason for both of these rules is expanded upon in the next section.

PURPOSE OR MEANING OF THE WORDS IN THE STATEMENT:

THIS WEEK”: These words accomplish two purposes; the first is to create a known framework of time in which the Miracle will occur. Without these words the time is too vague, encouraging doubts to arise. The second purpose is to fool the inner “judge” who has no faith in abundance. This “judge” is of the ego and encourages our fears around money. However this “judge” tends to be lazy, upon hearing “this week,” it sets a strategy to send out its doubt and fear messages three or four days after the statement is made. In actuality the Money Miracle will occur much sooner, thus getting around the tactics of the “ego-judge.”

I WILL”: This is NOT a future tense verb. It is an expression of personal will phrased in such a way as to again fool the ego. If there is one word in this statement that is to be emphasized it is this one!

EXPERIENCE”: When one receives and then sees the Miracle there is a real “aha!” reaction in the body.

A MIRACLE”: It is critical to have no expectation of the source or the amount of the Money Miracle. Do not think, “Now I will get a raise.” Or “Now I will win the lottery.” A penny on the floor can be as much a Miracle having to do with money, as an unexpected refund from the Inland Revenue for £850! Acknowledge the penny (which appears primarily to let you know that the technique does work, and you need not be in fear) and then repeat the statement again, per Rule #2. “This week I will experience ANOTHER Miracle having to do with Money!”

HAVING TO DO WITH MONEY”: This is the hard one! It is easy to see a Money Miracle when it involves actual currency, and more difficult when you receive something of value that did not require an exchange of “green pieces of paper.” Once acclimated to acknowledging unexpected money as a “miracle” you will find the process may change – you begin to receive things at no cost. (Being taken out to lunch, a set of books, a free ticket to a concert) This phrase is the one most associated with Rule 1 – if it does not directly involve cash, check or money order, are you able to perceive the Money Miracle has occurred?

IT WORKS! And now, having shared it with you, I’m going to start watching for it to show up in my life!

How to Tame Fear Through the Law of Attraction

Can fear affect your desires when applying the Law of Attraction? You bet it can. Fear can be paralyzing when attaining what you desire if you’re not careful. And of course, fear can be debilitating in anything you do.

What is the purpose of fear? Fear can help you out when you are in a ‘do or die’ type of situation. It can encourage us to be more cautious and is a way of protecting ourselves. But our survival self, the one that tells us when to be cautious, can be overprotective at times. You are ultimately the one to decipher whether what you are afraid of is coming from your survival self and is a validated concern, or is merely weighing in and making its presence known, like so many other negative states, just because it can. The Law of Attraction will pick up on fearful thoughts and feelings and return more to be fearful of. Let’s tame the fear monster ahead of time so that the Law of Attraction will bring only positive results to your life.

Here’s how to be rid of the fear, or at least tame it, in order to obtain what you want out of life.

Let’s begin by focusing on exactly what you are truly afraid of. Is your fear validated? An example: Imagine you are preparing to jump out of an airplane minus a parachute. In this instance, is your fear validated by your survival self? Obviously, yes it is. Your survival self is telling you this is something to fear, and hopes that you won’t do it. The fear and caution are valid.

Now what about this one? You are about to start a new job and you are afraid that no one will like you and that you may do a bad job. Is this fear valid? Well, sure the new job could go as you see it and if you have been putting a lot of energy toward the new job this way, it probably will go that way. But is it really something to be afraid of? Does it threaten your physical being? See, your survival self is rearing its ugly head where it doesn’t belong and you need to tell it so. When you start to have the feeling of fear, make sure to examine it and see if it is a valid physical fear.

Now that you have figured out what to do (telling your survival self that you are handling this one, thank you very much…), how do you cease being fearful? First of all, within the Law of Attraction, anything that you focus on and feel, be it a happy or angry feeling, will attract a like feeling to you. This is the job of the Law of Attraction. It’s not being mean or vindictive toward you; the Law of Attraction is just taking what you tell it to do, and then brings it to you. Focus on what you don’t want, and you will get what you don’t want. Focus on what you do want, and, you guessed it, you will get what you want. Fear begets fear. Joy begets joy. Love begets love, and the Universe will give you what you feel.

How does fear serve you? Being afraid of something makes whatever that something is seem ominous or scary. What is there to be afraid of? Do you base your fear from past experiences? If that is the case, you have learned from those experiences and don’t need them or the fear anymore. Are you afraid of being hurt? Isn’t it better to take the risk and find out? What if that one person or that one situation you are afraid of is the one that is going to be beautiful and life altering and you may instead pass up because of fear. Beat fear at its own game. Don’t buy into it.

Handle your fear by asking if it is valid or not. If it is a valid fear, listen to it. But when it’s based on past experiences where you have been hurt or based on your own concern of failure, tell the survival self that you have to take the risk and do it anyway. The survival self will step back (it may take a few times), and you can trust the Universe that you will obtain what you want. As long as you keep your eye on your desired goal and trust the Universe to get you there, than there should be no fear, especially if you place your trust and faith in the Law of Attraction.

Check of Abundance

If you wish to manifest extra cash the Law of Abundance check can be a great way to start to focus on what you want. You can do this at any time but it is said that the most auspicious time is when there is a new moon, using the moon’s power to focus on improving your finances.

Use a blank check (or print out one from below) sign it with “Law Of Abundance”, make it out to your name and enter the amount you feel comfortable to receive. Don’t ask for too much because subconsciously you may realise that it would upset the apple cart. Start small and work your way up. Raise your expectations gradually.

Once you have made out the check take a while to visualize receiving the money and think about how happy you will be to receive it. It is important to believe that it can happen. Visualize only happy thoughts to cancel any negativity.

Put the check somewhere that you will see it regularly or keep it with you. And every time you look at it fill your mind with gratitude.

When the money arrives be sure to thank the Universe.
